As a key member of the team, you will own and lead the development of Redis modules, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability. This is a hands-on engineering role involving Rust and C development, as well as CI/CD pipeline integration. You’ll work in a dynamic and growing company, influencing the future of one of the most widely used database technologies.

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Own and lead the development of Redis datatypes modules, driving innovation and performance improvements
  • Define technical roadmaps and influence key architectural decisions for Redis modules.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the open-source Redis community, shaping the future of the project.
  • Improve performance, reliability, and stability of Redis modules.
  • Take full ownership of key modules and drive them to success.
  • Write high-quality, efficient code in Rust and C.
  • Oversee and enhance CI pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes.

 

What will you need to have? 

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
  • Experience leading teams, with a track record of driving initiatives to success
  • Strong understanding of databases, distributed systems, or low-level performance optimizations.
  • Ability to think strategically, define technical roadmaps, and influence key architectural decisions
  • Experience working in Agile development environments, with a focus on iteration and continuous improvement.
  • Extensive experience in low-level programming in C, C++, or Rust, with a deep understanding of its memory safety, concurrency features, and performance optimizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on optimizing performance and solving complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with a distributed team and contribute to collective goals.

 

Extra great if you have: 

  • Hands-on experience working with Redis, particularly with its modules and API development.
  • A history of contributing to open-source projects, demonstrating your ability to collaborate and engage with the community.
